Hi, I joined this community because I'm a beginning kite freak/fan. I live in Finland where there are no kite traditions. I have no much practical experience but an inspiring book by a certain Mårten Bondestam. I made a minisled with no frame from a plastic bag thirteen years ago, and it flew... I recently tried to make a similar but it didn't fly well.
My first real project could be "Russell Hall" kite but that will probably change due to the feasibility. :> I must also bear in mind the long winter here... Current Mood: okay
Hello. This is the first time I have posted here :) Yay.
I am going to Europe this month. I am going to Paris, Paderborn Germany, and Poznan & Krakow in Poland. I am going to only take one kite because kite flying unfortunately is not my primary focus on this trip. Of course I know nothing about the weather conditions, or even anything at all about these places in late september, early october.
I have my choice of a few different kites, but I want to only take one because I am trying to travel light, and will be spending a lot of time on trains and the like. I have my choice of a Flexifoil Psycho, Mullin Area 51, Benson Box of Tricks (although this is full size, so possibly not) and a few others. I am leaning towards the Area51, but only if the wind is likely to be mild.
Also, if anyone who reads this lives in one of those places and can point me at a good flying field then please let me know.
Hey I thought that I would let you guys know that I have started a community for Midwest Kite Fliers. I have been flying kites for over ten years now but I have been on a shift as of late that dosn't give me many daylight hours. So I thought that I would create mw_kite
. Feel free to join.
That is my kite and I yesturday in the park.. woo kites!
Just the other day ... I saw this kid who made this homemade kite. It was made out of a black garbage bag and at the end of it... he had a stick with a string on it! Current Mood: amused
hey! this is a hello from your friendly moderating type person =^.^=
I just thought, kite flying would be a fun for everyone thing to talk about, post pictures of, etc. I'm no expert, but maybe a few of you are?
